What I like best about Superman? Hm...
I like it when he has to face moral dilemmas. It's not just about punching the bad guy. For instance, Lex Luthor became president. Great, now what do you do? You could get rid of Lex, but that would be an affront to democratic society. My favorite Superman story (though there's a lot I haven't read) is Superman: Peace on Earth. In it, Superman tries to solve world hunger, and it's not that simple. For instance, some people are afraid when Superman shows up, and they refuse to eat what he provides. In another place, the local dictators poison the food, so the people will remain dependent on them. I really like it when comics examine the complexities of the real world (another example: X-men deals with prejudice), rather than reduce everything to simple brawling.
