Gambit's Cajun Strike #7 - Freakin' Movie Trolls!!!
HOLY HAND GRENADE OF ANTIOCH!!! THE
CAJUN STRIKE IS BACK!! Yes, it's been a few months since I've lashed out at anything movie related for awhile, but something has been building up steam in me for some time, so I figured let's let the whistle blow.
I've been on the webforum run now for a couple years. Between our site and its predecessor, I've come to realize something: There are some majorly angry moviegoers out there.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about those out there that say "That movie was terrible. It wasn't nearly as good as people have said." No, no, I'm referring to the people out there whose soul purpose in life is tell everyone out there that everything about a film sucks and anyone who disagrees is an idiot. Now that might be all well and good, there are afterall a lot of idiots out there, but what these blowhards don't seem to understand is that no one really gives a flying fruit and nut bar what the hell they say in their lame one-sided rants.
I will be the first to admit, that many things anger me and that I have voiced my opinion on things that piss me off before. I'm actually doing it right now....ironic, I know. However, I do so in a more civilzed way. For one, I don't deliberately go out on the web to piss people off. I've seen countless post on sites where the person just starts off bitching about a movie. Others may chime in and try to play the good guy, but these bitter bastards are so damn stubborn that they don't want to listen and instead just wine and scream some more.
I'm all for freedom of speech, but really, you got to wonder if some people take it too far. Sure ya got the right to say it, but who wants to hear it? So you didn't like the latest
Transformers movie, ok fine, but seriously, what did you expect? If you see the trailer for a film and it has more than one explosion, or something giant in it, or even if it just has non stop action in the 2 minute trailer - you need only to expect that it's not gonna win an Oscar for Best Picture. Seriously, if you go in there with high expectations all the time, you're just gonna screw up your chances of enjoying a fun film.
I believe people should always go into a theatre with an open mind. Films are supposed to be an escape from reality. They aren't always meant to impress or make you think. Do you think the makers of
GI JOE had Academy Award in their heads when they made their movie? Hell no!! They were thinking "How hot can we make Scarlett look and have it still be rated PG13?"
Not all filmmakers want Oscars. Most filmmakers make films because they love movies as much as I do and thats it. They make what they like because they think it will be fun to watch. They aren't counting on, nor do they care, that Joe Schmoe is gonna pick at every illogical thing that happens and totally rip the movie on the internet.
Granted there are movies out there that are trying to win awards and accolades. I'll gurantee one thing though - they are pretty easy to spot. One good sign is if the title is not a 3rd or 4th sequal. No good film worthy of such high Oscar praise has made it past part 2. The higher you get in numbers, the more your credibilty drops. But you see, that's not a bad thing. I have enjoyed my movie experience many times by watching silly sequals or even reboots. They're are fun movies, that's all they're supposed to be.
The people out there who want to do nothing in life but argue and piss people off are the ones that should be immediately banned from webforums. I've seen it a few times at Cx and it really gets me upset, especially when the poster is knocking a film that has been a classic for years and that 95% of the people who watch films, consider it a good one. But no, this jerkwad thinks it's a piece of crap and anyone who liked it is a moron. Ok, fine your entitled to your opinion, but when you know that you're only saying it to piss people off and you say it anyway, then you've crossed over into Troll territory.
I can't stand Trolls.
The movie
Troll was ok, but that's not my point. I've made my point, I'll stop venting now.
