Night Zero: Something Wicked This Way Comes

The depths of Hades

"This has gone on for far too long," Medusa shrieked, and her hair hissed in agreement.
"That wretched goddess Athena turned me into a Gorgon. Her children and the other demigods have an entire camp dedicated to them and I'm forced to spend my days withering down here?!"

"I say NO MORE!!! We need to take the Camp by force and destroy each and every single one of those sniveling kids. Who's with me??" Which one of you monsters is brave enough to take on the gods?"

Olympus

A woman ran hurriedly towards large double-doors. The edges were gleaming with a pure bright light. She pushed the doors open and made her way towards the center of what looked like an ancient Greek amphitheater. The three men sitting and drinking wine looked up at her, waiting to hear about what caused this intrusion.

"My Lord Zeus, thy help is needed. My spies in the underworld have just informed me that Medusa, that whore of a Gorgon, is rallying troops to attack Camp Half-Blood right this very minute."

"And what would you have me do about that, Athena? I'm trying to drink my wine here. Dionysus whipped me up something special for my birthday."

"But my Lord, the children. How will they defend themselves?"

"Oh very well, just quit your begging. It is not very becoming of a goddess." He turned to the other two, "Come, let us go down to the Camp and see what Dionysus has in his cellar. Maybe he has a special stash he's hiding from us, eh? Athena, you stay here. We'll take care of this."

Inaudibly, Athena replied, "It seems like I must do something about it as well. Still, I can't disregard a direct order from Zeus....What can I do?"

Manhattan, New York, a few moments later

Athena hurried up the stairs and knocked on the door. Many times. No one answered. She knocked again and sighed. She took a step back and kicked the door in with such force that the ugly man who was sleeping on the couch wearing nothing but a pair of dirty underwear woke up with a grunt. He wiped the drool off his face and shouted, "What the **** do you think you're doing, woman?"

"I don't care about you," Athena replied, talking more to herself than to Gabe. Where's Sally?"

"She's not here. What do you want with her?"

"Her son Percy's in terrible danger. Speaking of, you're his stepfather. I will give you directions, follow them to Camp Half-Blood. I will put a spell on you that will allow you to pass through the mystical barrier. I need you to stay by Percy's side at all times and protect him from the dangers he will face. Your naturally pungent scent will keep the Monsters away from him."

Gabe was stunned. "Okay," he said to Athena, who hastily muttered something and vanished into thin air a second later.

"Silly woman. Do you think I would ever willingly protect that brat. He wrecked my Corvette. This is perfect. I could just sneak into Camp, kill the kid, and come back without anyone being none the wiser. Muahahahahahahaha!"

Camp Half-Blood

"So it's all understood then, Dionysus? We will pose as demigods in order to root out the Monsters, who, according to my information, is doing the same thing in order to kill the kids without suspicion."

"Whatever pleases you, Lord Zeus.

A few moments later.

"Attention, this is Mr. D, your camp director. Drop everything you're doing and listen closely. As of right this instant, we will be starting a new kind of training. Consider the scenario that there are monsters among you and you can't discern who they are as they have taken the same form as you. Each day, you will vote for those among you who you think is a monster. I will strangle that person with my vines and their real form will be revealed. Each night, you will send me your assigned abilities, if you have them. These will help you weed out the monsters, but be careful, you may destroy one of your fellow campers in the process.

Good luck."

Percy, Annabeth and Grover looked at one another.

"This can't be good!"

It is now Day One. 7 votes needed for a lynch. There will be no "No votes."  Anyone who doesnt post in some way during a day phase is subject to be replaced or mod-killed. The day phase for Day 1 will last throughtout the weekend and will end it on Sunday night. Starting on the Monday Day phase, I will follow Hammer rules.
