Night 0 Part 1: A Deal with Apocalypse

150 years ago:

Nathaniel Essex, a student at the University of Cambridge, had finally finished reading “On The Origin of Species” by one of his professors, Charles Darwin. The book presented such fascinating and diverse ideas that excited the imagination of Nathaniel, he had so many questions about the foundations of this theory and its implications for the human race, but of one thing he was certain, evolution was a true force of nature. It would change the landscape of the Earth forever.

Nathaniel closed the book and decided to go out for a walk, it was a hot summer afternoon, and he felt nature was calling, eager to be discovered and classified. Today, he turned twenty two, but his mind was too busy to remember this fact as he went outside. Essex had already walked three miles away from the campus, he was all by himself in the middle of a field, yet he could not get the idea of evolution out of his mind, what would humans look ten thousands years from now, would they be able to fly? Or to better resist the cold or the heat? Then a voice came from behind him:

“They will be able to do things that will defy your understanding, things your imagination cannot even begin to fathom”

Nathaniel turned around to face a tall man, he seemed very old, by all accounts he was at least forty five. He did not know what to say, had he been talking aloud? Where had this man come from? But before he could open his mouth and exteriorize his questions, the man spoke again

“You want to see the future, don‘t you Nathaniel Essex?” the old stranger was now offering his hand to Nathaniel “I have seen all of human history from its beginning to its demise. In fact, I come from the end of all things summoned here by your curiosity to offer you a deal” Nathaniel was still speechless “I will give you eternal life so that instead of imagining the future you will be able to live it, and in exchange, all I require from you is only eleven years of service in the future at the dawn of the new millennium. A mind like yours, preserved at its finest living through years of technological and scientific advancements, will be able  to give me the tools to separate the strong from the weak, and better prepare them for the battle that will make me a God” 

Essex was overwhelmed by it all, this was too much information to process, then he realized the figure in front of him did not belong to a man, it was something else, something better, it had travel back to time to give him eternal life, the ability to live and see how evolution would change the face of everything on Earth, and it only required eleven years of service. He did not have to think twice, still unable to speak he nodded to express his agreement. The tall menacing creature touched him in the forehead and said:
"Rise Sinister"

Night 0 Part 2 The Birth of two adversaries.

25 years ago:
Boston, Massachusetts

The team of doctors rushed the woman in labor to the delivery room, she was holding her husband’s hand, while sweating profusely. This was her first time giving birth, the pain was worse than she had ever imagined, and it certainly did not match any of the very graphical descriptions she had heard. Her husband felt her concern, and he reaffirmed his grasp on her hand.

“Nathaniel, this baby is tearing up my insides, I can feel him, it is like it clawing his way out of me” she said nervously. One of the doctors tried to calm her down, telling her that some women felt that way during a complicated delivery, another one was saying that they needed to do a C-section urgently. “Why is this happening to me, Nathaniel? You told me Remy would be born like a normal boy…” the monitor flat lined, as the doctors pushed Essex out of the way, and got the gurney inside the delivery room.

“I’m sorry Mr Essex, but you have to wait here. We will do our best to save them both”

Two minutes later, the doctors came out carrying a baby, there were looks of horror in their faces, shivering they approached Nathaniel, and handed him the child. All of them were trying to keep their distance, until the head of pediatrics stepped forward and spoke faking a commanding tone:

“We are going to ask you to leave the premises and take the baby with you. This aberration …”

But he was unable to finish the sentence, all the doctors started gasping for air as they bowed down to Sinister, and eventually choked to death.

“Show more respect for my son, it took me forty two attempts to create him exactly the way I wanted. This time my little Gambit paid off"

San Diego, California

When Irene Adler held her new born baby in her arms, she already knew the answer to the question she was about to ask the nurse, yet she did it anyway:

“My little Anna, she is not blind like me, is she?”

Irene was unable to see the nurse, but she had already witnessed this scene in her mind. How the woman smiled before replying:

“Your baby can see just fine, madam. You are a very strong woman to give birth all by yourself”

Tears ran down Irene’s face as she held the baby closer to her chest. She knew her life would one day depend on the strength of her daughter, that dark times were coming, and that humankind only had fifteen years left until being erased from the phase of the planet. She also knew she would be imprisoned, wearing a mask over her deformed face, tortured every day unable to hide the fact that a group of heroes from other universes would arrive in an attempt to stop Sinister.

“Her father died three months ago in a car accident. I asked him that night not to go out, but he did not listen, there is nothing I can do, you see everything is already written, that is why my friends call me Destiny”.

Night 0 Part 3: Rogue’s Destiny

Ten Years ago:
Los Angeles International Airport, California

“Mom, I still do not know why you are not coming with me to visit Uncle Victor? You say you are coming next week, then why are you sending me now, instead of flying together? There is something you are not telling me, this is about one of your visions, isn’t it?”

Destiny smiled at her daughter, while placing a kiss on her cheek, making an effort to hide the sadness on her face, and the truth behind her daughter’s words.

“Anna, I am staying behind because a friend of mine is going to need my help in the next three days. I am sending you ahead, because your Uncle Victor is an army veteran who just returned from his last tour of duty last night, you are his only niece. Imagine how much peace you will bring to his life, you have been by my side every time he has called from the front, and you know how he is always asking for you, he treasures your life more than anything in this world. There is no hidden reason behind this, besides the two of you would greatly benefit from spending some time together without me. Get to watch some movies and tour Chicago”

Now Anna felt like a spoiled child, sometimes she really tried too hard to find hidden motives behind her mom’s actions. She kissed Irene on the forehead, and hugged her before exiting the taxi. Irene Adler waved good-bye to her daughter, she sighed in relief, knowing her daughter would board that plane and arrive in Chicago four hours later. The taxi driver dropped Destiny back at her house.

Irene opened her purse and took her keys out. She was going through the motions, already aware of who was waiting for her inside her apartment. As she turned the doorknob a chill went down her spine, she was about to feel the touch of the man whose face had been haunting her dreams for more than twenty years.

Gambit grabbed Destiny’s wrist, cornered her against a wall and in a rough voice whispered to her:

“Dad wants to know everything you know. He said our time to pay for the gifts given onto us has come, and that you are instrumental to the plans of his Master. So, Irene, do you know what is about to happen to every person who is not X-gene positive in this planet by birth or later genetic manipulation?”

Destiny nodded.

“At this time tomorrow the virus your Sinister father released into the air last year will kill every human left. After that he will start hunting the most powerful mutants on Earth to brainwash them and turn them into obedient soldiers for Apocalypse (Non Playable Character) in his bide to defeat God at the end of time. Your father will use me to find these mutants. He will torture me but never brainwash me, fearing that it might affect my ability. The question I ask you now, Gambit, is do you know how it is you die?”

Remy knocked the defenseless woman unconscious. She was trying to feed him lies, he was immortal, his father had told him so.


Chicago O’Hare International Airport, Illinois Four hours later

“Uncle Victor” yelled Anna as she hugged the forty year old marine. “I have missed you so much. What are those chains on your neck?”

The man looked at his dog tags, they read Victor “Sabretooth” Creed, then took them off so that Anna would have a closer look.

“These are called dog tags. We use them as a means of identification, in case we get injured or die in combat, they have our blood type and some useful information in case the field doctor needs to operate” he was amazed at how much his niece had grown in the last two years, he tried to lighten up the atmosphere since he still had not figured out how to break the news to her. “Of course, your dear old uncle never got an injury he could not overcome all by himself while he was on his Tour of Duty”

“They look great, Uncle Victor. So why do they call you Sabretooth in the marines?”

“Because of my pretty teeth” replied the man with a wide smile showing the size of his canines. “Maybe, someday you will too become a soldier, and wear a dog tag. What do you think, Anna? It could read Anna Marie “Rogue” Adler, since you are so adept at following rules” and he winked. Later that night Victor Creed would realize that he had not been subtle enough when trying to slowly approach their predicament.

“Why exactly did mom send me here?” asked Anna alarmed. “Are you going to train me to become a soldier? I knew mom was lying to me, is she okay? Please Uncle Victor, swear to me mom is ok” Anna held her uncle as she started crying, she knew that her life as she knew it was over.

Night 0 Part 4: Enter The Exiles
Two months ago:
The Crystal Palace

“Unacceptable” started M “three months ago we went to that Universe 2025, half the team died as a result, if it were not because Elixir and Blink were teleported to the Stasys Crystals before their wounds killed them, I would have been the only survivor. Am I the only one seeing how this is a bad idea? Look 2025 is 45 squared, and 20+25 =45. On the other hand 9801 is 99 squared, and 98+01=99. Those universes are doomed. I am certain the moment we get to that universe something is going to go wrong”

Chamber (Non Playable Character) tried to calm M down

“That was before, look it has been three months and not a single member of this team has been so much as wounded…”

“Gee, no need to thank me Chamber” interjected Domino. “It has been my good luck powers that have kept us all alive. Judging by the stories I have heard regarding your past failures, you have to admit this team certainly needed someone like me”

“I still lead this team, Domino” Blink was quick to reassert her position “and as long as I lead this team, everyone has the right to voice their opinions. M’s concern is not to be dismissed, it might seem quite capricious, but …”

Chamber was getting nervous, yes, it was true, for the last three months everyone of their missions had been completely successful, no casualties on the team, but the newcomers had not yet managed to form a team bond with the previous members. It seemed that M, Blink and Elixir were always favoring a course of approach, while the dangerous and unpredictable Domino and the shape-shifting and mood-swinging Morph seemed intent on doing the opposite. On the other hand, their Deadpool, a one thousand year old man, who knew a little bit of everything, yet was an expert at nothing, seemed to always march to his own drum, and here he was about to address the team as if they were children in a classroom.

“M is right, there are exactly three four-digit numbers that have the property, 2025, 3025 and 9801, they equal the square of the addition of their first two digits and their last two digits. Very observant as usual M, now, we have never visited Universe 3025, have we? Well when we worked with John Nash…” Deadpool paused, “What are you talking about? We never worked with John Nash, you read that in a book, man. WE KILLED JOHN NASH, but that is besides the point”, the team had already gotten used to Deadpool’s multiple-personality disorder “Shut up, dude, you are making us look bad, it is stupid not to take advantage of our wide experience with a variety of subject matters, you do not get to live over a thousand years and not learn anything, plus who is to say that agreeing on this simple matter with M would have finally guaranteed us sleeping with her?”

“Wade, your personalities are talking aloud again” said Morph as he changed his shape to match Deadpool‘s look “and I will not tolerate you revealing our secrets to these strangers” Morph raised his fist as if to hit Deadpool in the head.

“STOP” yelled Elixir “are you nuts? I know you are playing games and that you punch like a girl” Morph flipped Elixir off  “But despite the fact that Wade can be very resourceful and smart, he does not have a healing factor anymore, so hitting him the wrong way could kill him, he is a thousand years old”

Chamber called the room to order.

“Listen, team, I am about to teleport you all down there, but I want to make sure  that you all have understood your mission. Somehow Apocalypse from Universe 314 found a way to jump time and dimensions, landed on Universe 9801 and fed Nathaniel Essex some of his life essence, turning this young man into Mr Sinister. Apocalypse wants Essex to perfect an army of powerful mutants, that he would then use to face God in the battle at the end of time in his Universe 314” Chamber stopped for a second to make sure that all the Exiles were paying attention “Contrary to what he thinks, Essex is not immortal, he is connected to Apocalypse, which will make him hard, yet not impossible, to kill. Your mission is to nullify Sinister’s hold in this world, almost every single mutant in this Universe has been brainwashed and obeys him, you need to break this connection. Also you need to eliminate his son/clone, Remy Lebeau “Gambit” Essex. Remy contains a copy of Sinister’s essence, in case the father dies the son will continue his work. Thankfully, Remy is not connected to Apocalypse which makes him weaker. As of this moment Remy is the leader of the Marauders, Sinister’s hit team, he is an skilled assassin, possessing most of his father’s powers, incapable of telepathy, Remy is a master hypnotist. Any questions?”

The team got ready for the universal jump. Chamber hit the teleporting button.

Genosha (Sinister’s Headquarters)

As soon as M, Blink, Elixir, Deadpool and Morph landed in Genosha, the marauders were on top of them, the Exiles were all knocked unconscious. Gambit smiled, the seer Destiny had been once again right, five reality hopping heroes appearing out of nowhere at 4 pm on the East shore of the island. His father would first erase their memories, this process might take months, and then he would test them to see if they were worthy of serving in Apocalypse’s army.

New York City, New York

Domino looked around her. The rest of the team was nowhere to be seen, maybe M had been right and these Universes had a way of messing up the teleportation systems of the Crystal Palace, it did not matter. Domino was the luckiest mutant in this or any other Universe, she was confident her abilities would allow her to track the rest of team.

Night 0 Part 5: Explosion
Genosha:

Five minutes till Now:
Rogue and Sabretooth had worked hard for ten years to avoid detection. Victor Creed had taught her niece all he knew about weapons, and once she developed an ability, he taught her how to better use it. They had arrived at Genosha five days ago, and all this time they had been placing explosive charges in key places all around the island, they would bring the fight to Sinister and his Marauders. But the real reason they were there was to find her mom and his sister, Irene Adler, and take her back home safely. The explosives had a double purpose: cause chaos, and open access to most of the main buildings all around the island. Maybe some of the equipment Sinister used to control the brainwashed mutants would be damaged and the ones who were freed from Essex’s mind control would join the Resistance. Some of the charges had been placed near holding centers, in the hopes of releasing some of Sinister’s prisoners, mutants who had not yet been fully brainwash or still undergoing mind wiping.

Victor Creed looked at her niece, handing her the remote trigger.

“Want to do the honors?”

Anna smiled at her uncle, taking the device from his hands, and then pressing the button.

Two minutes till Now
It had taken Domino a long time to get all the way from New York to Genosha, but she had finally managed to do it without being noticed. She had spent the last couple of days locating Sinister’s base of operations, and the place where her teammates were being held, last night she had placed several explosive charges all around the base of operations and prison. Domino had not yet pressed the trigger button, when explosions starting taking place anywhere. She was that lucky!

Now:
The explosion shook Blink’s cell up, one of the falling bricks had somehow managed to destroy the collar that was numbing her brain. She stood up and noticed the Tallus on her arm, the memories were slowly coming back to her. She spoke into the device:

“Chamber? How long have I been out?”  She heard the excitement on the other side of the communication. Chamber was exhilarated, it took him a couple of minutes to be able to form words:

“Blink, thank God, you are alive. I lost all contact with you guys two months ago. I knew you were alive, and I tried to find a way to remain in contact with you, but there was something interfering” he stopped “Blink, it is worse than it looks now, you have three days to stop Sinister and Remy”

Blink realized the collars she would have to find her teammates and remove their collars so that they would recall who each other were and what was their mission.

Mission Parameters for the Exiles:
Kill Sinister and Remy during the course of the next three days

Mission Parameters for the Resistance:
Find and rescue Destiny. Kill Sinister and Remy.

It is now night, this phase will last till Thursday, July 15, 2010, 4 pm EST, or until all night abilities have been received.

Day 1: Unconscious

The first bomb that went off, took down the Marauders headquarters, Nathaniel Essex arrived at the scene a whole hour later to find Gambit unconscious under a pile of rubble. Sinister considered this an act of war, and those responsible would pay. He picked his son up and took him to one of his secret medical labs, once morning broke they would be ready for the hunt.

Elixir was running around, he did not remember what he was doing here, he looked at his golden right arm, and at his black left arm, he did recall that he possessed the golden healing light, and the black touch of death. He saw a woman carrying a rifle, she seemed dangerous, Elixir did not recognize Domino so his instinct prompted him to grab her with his black left arm. As he silently approached her, another bomb went off destroying the wall to his right, and all of the rubble fell exactly on top of him, knocking him down. Domino turned around to see just a lot of debris. She kept walking, there was someone she needed to find. Yes, she was that lucky.

Rogue and Sabretooth looked for Destiny the whole night, without any success. Victor Creed said to his niece:

“Do not despair now, this has only just begun”.

Morph was being held at a very special place, a hospital where Sinister kept all the shape-shifters. Because of their very nature, shape-shifters were hard to mind-wipe and brainwash, so they were kept inside titanium cages with their names on the front of the door. Morph heard when the explosions start and panicked, he was no expert but he knew that such big explosions in very confined spaces could be quite dangerous because of the fire, then the door to his cage came down, there were shape-shifters everywhere.

Morph knew his first course of action should be to look for a way out. He started running out of the place. He had to make sure of something before leaving though, during his time at the facility he had heard the stories about a particularly devious and murderous shape-shifter named Mystique, Morph needed to know that she was still imprisoned or that would hinder the Exiles’s mission. As he ran down the stairs he saw the a cage door lying on the ground, the name Mystique was written on the front, his worse fears had become a reality. Another explosion was heard, and Morph was trapped under several metallic pieces, he tried to crawl out of the wreckage, but he had hit his head very badly and his vision was dizzy. Morph lost consciousness.

M saw the explosions, she did not care for the chaos, she knew she was super-human, and that it would be hard for someone to successfully take her out of the battle. What M was not counting on was a bomb exploding right next to her. Before she lost consciousness the blast triggered a memory on her brain: Chamber’s face. She did not know who he actually was, but she managed to convince herself that she had to survive just so that she had a chance to punch that idiotic mouthless person on the face.

Deadpool saw the outer wall of his cell explode. “I always knew I had telekinetic powers, why didn’t I ever try and use them? Did you guys see how I blew up that wall with my mind?” He ran out but there was smoke everywhere, that did not stop him, if he had to he would run blind. Another bomb went off and he fell on his side. Suddenly he was immersed in water. A voice in his mind spoke to him “What kind of moron are you? We do not have a healing factor anymore, man! You are going to drown us all!!!” and then another voice said “You are face down in the water, STOP TALKING ALOUD!!! You are filling our lungs with water, just roll over!”. As Wade Wilson rolled on his back, he realized he had fallen on a pool, he already was at the edge of it. He pulled himself up, he was having some difficulty breathing, one of his personalities did the Heimlich maneuver on himself, and he threw up all the water. The excitement had been too much for him, Deadpool fainted.

It is now day, this phase will end Friday, July 16, 2010 at 4 pm EST.

Night 1: DEAD POOL
When Deadpool regained consciousness the sun was high in the sky, he decided to set a defensive perimeter. He scouted the area, and found some of the explosive charges that, for some reason, had not gone off the previous night, he also found a cache of weapons, mostly rifles and shotguns, inside one of the destroyed buildings. He started placing the charges on strategic positions surrounding him, throughout the day he had seen shadows moving amongst the wreckage and the surrounding buildings, in case someone tried to attack him, he would be ready for them.

This had taken him the whole afternoon, while in his mind he played several scenarios, and they all ended up with his would-be assassin going: BOOM. Using rope he had attached the rifles and shotguns to his torso.

As the sun started to set, Deadpoolheard the sounds of people approaching, he took a couple of steps back in preparation for the attack, but all of a sudden the ground beneath him swallowed him.

“You fell inside the pool, again! And with all the hardware you tied to yourself we are sinking!” said one of his personalities. Deadpool had a decision to make, get rid of the amazing weaponry to try and stay afloat, or, drown and press the trigger for the bombs. “Stop swallowing water and press the trigger” yelled another voice. Deadpool pressed the trigger and as he drowned waiting for the glorious blast above, another voice exclaimed: “Wait a second, who armed the explosives?!?!?!?!? Because I sure didn't” “Now you really did it, we are going to die for nothing” “Oh, well, at least I am drowning with these phenomenal rifles”.

Tony Cirillo is dead. He was Deadpool, Pathological Liar (Commuter, Lie Detector, Cop, Watcher, Bomb, Executioner) of the Exiles.

Note: Tony Cirillo’s bomb claim did not activate because his ability was blocked during the first two phases.

It is now Night, this phase will end Saturday, July 17, 2010, at 4 pm EST, or once all night abilities have been sent.

Night 1: SOME LUCKY GAL.

12 AM
Sinister was extremely upset, because of the explosions all of those alternate reality super-heroes were on the loose, and Destiny had escaped, it was a danger to have that old woman just wandering around, what if the Exiles found her, or worse, the people who planted the bombs, those calling themselves the Resistance. Now, they had forced his hand.

“Gambit, take the Marauders with you, kill any member of the Exiles that crosses your path, same goes for Destiny, she could become an asset to our enemies”.

Domino saw Blink heading towards the hospital where they kept the shape-shifters. She decided to follow her teammate without being noticed, after all Blink’s leadership was quite questionable, Domino would be a fool by revealing herself so soon and blowing up her tactical advantage at this point.


1 AM

Gambit spotted Domino following Blink while keeping a safe distance between them. He immediately realized she was not one of the prisoners, in fact he was certain she had never been on the island before. He decided to approach the situation in a safe manner, since Domino was an unknown player.

“Marauders attack the woman with the pale face and the black mark around her right eye. Do not use deadly force, study the subject and report back to my father, I have some business to attend to”.

Domino was surrounded by the Marauders quickly, she smiled, no matter their numbers she had luck on her side. It took her exactly fifteen minutes to knock all of her opponents down, more than enough time to lose sight of Blink. Well, it did not matter, she was confident she would find her again soon enough.

Blink entered the hospital, she was talking to Chamber via the Tallus.

“I am inside the hospital where they kept Morph, this place is destroyed Chamber” but then she heard a voice asking for help.

“Blink, help me, I am wounded”

Blink immediately ran towards the voice. She was excited, this could mean a step in the right direction towards reuniting the team.

“Blink, please hurry, I need help”

Blink saw a body on the ground, she approached him with caution, and turned him around, it was Gambit!

“You really are gullible, hero. Now, prepare to die”

“Chamber, get me out of here” screamed Blink into the Tallus.

Chamber activated the Stasis Crystals. Gambit managed to stab Blink with his staff before her body was encased on the crystals and started the healing process.

2 AM

Domino entered the hospital for shape-shifters, Blink had entered the building when Domino was attacked by the Marauders. Then she saw a figure approaching her, it was Blink, but there was something odd about her.

“I need help” said Blink

“You are not my teammate” said Domino “you see Shape-Shifter, you are missing the device she has on her right wrist. You clearly are not as good as you think at deceiving”

Mystique looked at her prey and said:

“Prepare to die”

Domino smiled, now that was more like it.

Elixir had been wandering around the island the whole day, his memory had still not come back to him, he entered a hospital in ruins. There were two woman fighting inside, one of them was the lady with the rifle from the previous night.

Elixir readied his left arm of Death, he would touch that lady with the rifle this time, nothing would get on his way. He still thought she was somehow responsible for that wall falling on top of him the previous night.

Domino was too busy fighting Mystique to notice Elixir coming from behind her. She did not see the seven feet tall man, lurking in the shadows either.

Sabretooth took Elixir by his right arm and threw him out a window. The crashing of the glass, made Domino turn her back to Mystique, a situation that Sabretooth took advantage of to grab the shape-shifter by the hair and threw her out another window.

Domino turned around again, her opponent had mysteriously vanished. Oh well, she was THAT lucky.

Sabretooth rejoined Rogue outside
“That pale lady was impressive fighting the Marauders here in the open, I am certain she could have handled those two on her own, but I could not resist lending her a hand”

Rogue smiled at the huge marine:

“That is why I love you so much Uncle Victor you are always so thoughtful of others. So, do you think we can consider the pale lady an ally?”

“Rogue, remember, only codenames on the field, ok? Regarding the pale lady, the enemy of your enemy is your friend. At least while your enemy is alive”


4 AM

Thundaga Smith stood up, then he felt someone grabbed his hair. Gambit whispered in his ear.

“Time to die. I am charging you with lots of energy, I will leave now and in five minutes, your little head will explode”.

Five minutes later, Thundaga Smith was recovering from the mother of all headaches. He had survived this attack, but it would be quite a long time before he regained his strength and survive something similar.

Day 2: The departure of a daughter
Destiny had tears in her eyes, for this day she had foreseen a long time ago. It was time for her daughter to leave her planet.

Apocalypse had been keeping a close eye on the happenings in the Island of Genosha, he had observed the way Victor Creed and Anna Marie Adler had damaged Sinister’s operation, he recognized the untapped potential in the teenager. She would be an asset in the battle at the end of time, and it was for this reason he would take her with him.

Apocalypse appeared in front of Sabretooth and Rogue, and said:

“You will come with me, girl. I will help you achieve your potential, there is nothing more you can learn on this world. And in exchange, you will help Apocalypse in the battle against God at the end of time”.

Sabretooth tried to attack the tall, strange-looking man, but he was easily overcome by the spirit of evil.

“Now, little Rogue your time has …” Apocalypse was shocked to see Rogue dissappear in front of him.

The Crystal Palace

Rogue found herself in front of guy who was missing his mouth and chest. A voice spoke on her head.

“My name is Chamber. I am in charge of providing assistance for a team called Exiles. I teleported you here to save you from Apocalypse, I also recognize the potential in you, and one member of our team happened to die in the battle at Genosha. I would like you to join us”

“You have to send me back” said Rogue. “My mom is still missing, and I need to help my uncle”

“I am really sorry,Anna” Chamber looked at her face with a grave expression on his eyes. “The teleporter can only bring people out of Genosha at this point. This mission is going to hell pretty quickly, and I cannot even send Blink back. The team is in the dark, but I promise you, they will try their best to save your mom and overcome Sinister’s forces”

Keith G is Out Of The Game. He was Rogue. Roleblocker for the Resistance.

Night 2: Destiny found.

10 pm.
During the day, Mystique had found a rifle, there was only one bullet in it. Mystique had decided to try a not so direct approach, because of the previous night. Eventually she saw Domino walking down one of the streets, she laid on her stomach at the top of a building, got Domino on the scope’s sight, and fired the bullet; but for some reason when Mystique pressed the trigger, Domino tripped and fell. The bullet passed four feet above her head, and then hit a wall.

Domino realized she was under attack, and that the bullet had followed its intended trajectory. Domino smiled, as long as she was lucky, these shots would never get her.

12 am
Elixir had finally recovered his memory, he realized his actions the former nights had been the result of his amnesia, but now he was about to take the fight to the people who captured them. As he approached Sinister’s center of operations, the Marauders felt on top of him, and held him to the ground. Elixir did not understand how they were able to touch his black arm. Gambit got close to him, laughing:

“Your mutant powers will not work, little Elixir. You see, one of my Marauders is called Scrambler and he negates completely the powers of whatever mutant he wants. Right now your powers are off. But do not be disappointed, somebody will be using a death touch tonight”

Gambit placed his hands on Elixir’s head. An explosion was heard a few seconds later.

Wolfwood is dead. He was Elixir. Healer/Vigilante of the Exiles.

4 am

Victor Creed continued his frantic search for his sister throughout the night, the loss of his niece had hit him hard. He had failed to protect her, but no longer. All of a sudden, he felt a hand touch his shoulder, he turned around, it was Irene. Sabretooth fell to his knees in front of Destiny. She caressed his head:

“You are a veteran of the army, Victor, you know how battles go. Anna might not be with us anymore, but she is in a safe place, and she will do good all across dimensions. You trained her well. Thank you, for taking care of my daughter Victor. This battle is not over yet”

Night 3: THE PRICE OF FAILURE
Apocalypse materialized in front of Sinister and Gambit. His voice filled the room and revealed his anger:

“Three days you’ve had to get rid of the meddlers and the heroes from another dimension, and yet your son has only killed two of them with his own hands. I grow impatient, Nathaniel. I want to make sure you lead the Marauders to victory over our enemies here, so I can tell the strong from the weak. Those who are strong will join me in the Battle at the End of Time, the weak will be condemned to a life in this barren Earth” Apocalypse paused and turned to Gambit. “To give you some incentive, and for you to realize that I do not tolerate failure” Apocalypse his fingers and Gambit started to overload with his own power, he reached out to his father, blood coming out from his eyes, and then, his body consumed itself. “Apocalypse gives and Apocalypse takes away, do not disappoint me again Nathaniel”

Chris J Lawton is dead. He was Gambit. Assassin of the Marauders

M looked at her wrist, she was once again in possession of the Tallus, and her memories came back. Chamber’s voice came through:

“M the situation is quite desperate. The three days have passed and the team was unable to stop Sinister. The mission parameters have changed, I’m sorry. Besides stopping Sinister and his Marauders, you need to capture Destiny”.

M made a fist, and bit her lip:

“You really have no idea what I want to tell you right now, Jonothan. This is the second time a mission goes wrong in this type of Universe , and I knew something like this was going to happen. But, nobody listened to me. Next mission, I stay up in the Crystal Palace and you come down here, what about that?”

For the Exiles to win the game, they need to be the last faction standing.

Day 4: NOT EVERYTHING IS AS IT SEEMS.
10 pm
Mystique had been following the two remaining members of the Resistance, she had been keeping a good distance from them, but Victor Creed’s enhanced senses had already detected her.

Irene Adler faced her brother and then in a soft spoken voice said:

“This is the way things are supposed to be Victor, if we are to defeat our enemies you have to leave me by myself”

Sabretooth nodded unwillingly, and left.

11 pm

Irene Adler was nervous, she already knew how the night would play, but it did not ease her; Sabretooth appeared in front of her, and told her:

“I checked the surroundings, there is no-one near, I think we are clear to go” as he introduced a hand on his side taking out a knife. Sabretooth knew Destiny was blind, this should present no problem.

Out of nowhere Sabretooth jumped on his impostor.

“Deceiving Shape-shifter, did you think we were not onto you? Last time you tried to kill the pale faced woman, I forgave your life; but this time you came for my family and you had the nerve to pretend to be me, brave but stupid”

Sabretooth had killed many people in his years in the army, but he had never been as savage as just now, once he was done punching and slashing, there were just pieces of flesh all over the floor. Victor Creed was covered in blood, he had let loose completely, he looked over to his sister.

“Thank you for protecting me, Victor” Destiny was blind, but she had seen every gruesome detail of the fight, but she knew the actions that Victor had carried out were born out of love. She added cryptically. “It is a shame we will not be able to help the other one”

N.K. Hawkins Jr is dead. He was Mystique, impersonator and Serial Killer

12 am.

M had arrived to the hospital for shape-shifters, something seemed to be calling her there. As she walked amongst the rubble, she made out a familiar figure tumbling around:

“Morph? Is that you?”

But Morph seemed out of his mind. A voice came from behind them.

“Your friend was attacked by another shape-shifter, Mystique. She stole his memories the night those explosions took place and the prisoners escaped. You see Mystique was such a dangerous shape-shifter, because besides being psychotic, from time to time she would steal somebody’s memories and try to live their lives. She was too unpredictable to control, but alas, if what I got out of Destiny when I held her prisoner is true, then our dear femme fatale is dead by now, and your little bag of jokes, Morph, will recover his memory in a couple of days” Sinister] paused for a second, he wanted to see how M reacted. The Marauders surrounded both Exiles

M spoke into the Tallus:

“Chamber,  I need you to teleport Morph out of here, he is amnesiac. I am about to fight the Marauders and Sinister, and I do not need to be looking out for him on top of it all”

Chamber received the message from M and he felt powerless, he knew she was lying, she was perfectly aware that he could only teleport one of them out of the place, and M was sacrificing herself for the sake of her teammate. There were so many things left unsaid between Chamber and M, but he hoped she realized how much he loved her. As Chamber hit the teleportation button, a tear rolled down his cheek. Morph appeared in the Crystal Palace.

Sinister looked at M:

“Apocalypse, my lord, killed my son, because he was unable to dispatch you. I am here to return the favor, your telepathic powers are a joke compared to mine” Sinister clenched his fist. “I am certain, having my mental fingers in your mind must hurt, your death will not be easy or painless, you should have allowed your lover to teleport you out of here, instead of being a martyr for a teammate who is not even your friend”

M saw her life flash before her eyes.

Thundaga Smith is dead. He was M. Rolecop/Bulletproof of the Exiles

It is now Day, this will be a hammer phase, and will be over July 23, 2010 at 10 am EST in case of a no lynch. Please also send in your night ability as you vote in case we will be forced to go into the night. 3 votes are needed for a lynch.

ENDGAME:
Destiny spent almost six hours explaining to her brother how to infiltrate Sinister’s Headquarters and kill all of the Marauders. She also told him that it would take him two days to totally annihilate Sinister’s forces, and get their revenge against him.

Sabretooth fought valiantly during this time, while Domino joined him in the battle to eradicate the evil that had plagued Universe 9801. Nathaniel Essex put up quite a fight but in the end he and his Marauders were annihilated.

As Sinister took his last breath, his master Apocalypse came to collect.

tybarra is dead. He was Sinister. Godfather/bulletproof of the Marauders

“You failed me, Nathaniel, and as the weak being you are now you die” Apocalypse turned to see Sabretooth and Domino. “You two have proved your strength, and that you are worthy to inherit the Earth. I will make you fight and kill for me”

Chamber teleported Domino back to the Crystal Palace, she had completed her mission, but not on time to avoid all the destruction and deaths amongst her teammates.

Apocalypse had been denied two apprentices already, but Victor Creed  would serve him. He got ready to take the former marine with him, when Irene Adler intervened:

“If you take him with you, you will never win the fight at The End of Time. I have seen  the future of your Universe with Victor in it, God wins, you lose. But if you leave him here, you have a chance at winning”

Apocalypse was not going to back down, but Destiny added:

“See what happened to your servant Nathaniel here, I had seen all this happen already, all because you allowed him to have a son. Now, go, face your battle the way a true destroyer should”

Apocalypse left, defeated.

Irene Adler joined her brother:

“Come, we have work to do, you need to lead the survivors and rebuild the Earth. You have never failed me, Victor you will be a great leader”
