Actually one of the best stories about JLA (oh something published by DC) is completely based on this precept, you should read it Matt

I'm going Marvel. Easy choice for me. Way more characters, better characters, better stories (that I know of) and no Superman. IG Saga and WWH > Anything DC for me.

I just hate the characters who win fights and shit like that because of their name. It's like paying 150 bucks for a pair of shoes because they have a nike symbol. I don't hate Dc as a whole, I just hate characters like Superman and Wonder Woman. I LOVE Deathstroke, Black Adam, Captain Marvel, etc.

i figured it was something along these lines... i feel ya, tekk. im the same way about brand names and preconceived ideas about characters. though i feel that new writers are bringing upon a new light over these characters. take grant morrison and his stint writing "all star superman". i thought it was fantastic how he brought relativity into superman's innate ability to "win 'em all", so to speak. also, i think the idea behind a superman and what it means to be "the strongest man alive" (not to mention (kill) bill's take on this subject hehe) are interesting matters brought upon by who superman is.

i just wanna say that Gabe was the one who got me into comics and i know plastic man from a JLA story he once lent me and i was blown away by plastic man's amazing powers (i remember him being described as one of the most powerful characters ever) and his huge heart, and his levity toward the seriousness of life. I love plastic man. as soon as i get a chance, ill be reading all i can about him.
